Today was my visit to TUL. I had to get up at 4AM to leave by 5AM and board the plane at 6AM! We were slightly delayed waiting on our flight attendant to arrive so we were suppose to leave at 640AM but didn't even start boarding until 715AM. It was an American Eagle flight so we were on an 40-seater. For anyone reading this who is not familiar with the Eagle jets, the cabin is about the size of a school bus. My head almost touches the roof of the cabin so it's very claustrophobic! I'm often on that 640AM flight so I usually take a nap.
Luckily, the flight to TUL is only 40 minutes. What's mind blowing to me is we send those Eagles as far as 4 hours. I CANNOT imagine. They're miserable.
So, we fully board, push back from the gate, and begin taxiing to the runway and this horrible grinding noise starts coming from below us in the wheel wells. And it doesn't stop and we don't appear to be slowing down. Finally, a guy in the back pushes the flight attendant call button to make sure the pilot knows there is a crazy noise. So, we turn around and head back to the gate. Sure enough - maintenance issue and we have to get a new plane. So, we deplane and wait.
However, that's not the worst part. Earlier I mentioned how tiny the Eagle planes are. Well, they're even tinier with a large neighbor sitting next to you. This guy who sits next to me has to be 300 pounds. Not fat, just a big guy and gigantic by Eagle passenger size. AND HE SMELLS HORRIBLE. Every time he shifted in his seat, I gagged a little. So, not only was he overflowing on to my seat, but he wreaked. I had to breathe through my mouth the whole flight. Eww. He was by far, the worst person I ever sat by. Lord help me tomorrow. I'm getting tired of traveling...
